What is low temperature lighting? It means to use artificial light source in lighting and the environment temperature is below 5 degree centigrade, such as freezer, refrigerator, low temperature factory, external lighting and so on. In the past, the light source of low temperature is dominated by fluorescent lamp but now LED also has a place at the table.
In normal temperature, the luminous efficiency of fluorescent lamp arrives in 90lm/W, which is regarded as high efficiency light source. However, in low temperature condition, even though the manufactories promote special low temperature fluorescent lamp to solve the problem of luminous efficiency, it couldn’t take into consideration the illuminance and requirement of aesthetic aspects. What’s worse, the price is too much high. In low temperature, the luminous efficiency of fluorescent lamp decreases a half and the life time is also relatively shortened.
Compared with fluorescent lamp, LED has special advantage in low temperature condition. Even in minus 40 degrees centigrade, LED light is able to start instantly without any special circuit or program design. In addition, the luminous efficiency of LED light almost has no influence no matter how low the temperature is or even better than normal condition. As a point light source, LED has the feature of small volume and directional light. Therefore, freezer and showing stand are able to arrange according to the design requirement. Meanwhile, LED light could able to supply enough and average illuminance to clearly see the goods and labels. The color temperature and color rendering index are variable, so it is able to choose LED light source according to different lighting requirement of products to attract consumers, such as led high bay , LED Street Light , etc.
