As many people heard, LED light is able to save energy. For example, the luminance of 30W led high bay amounts to the luminance of 200-300W incandescent while 50W LED High Bay amounts to the luminance of 150W compact fluorescent lamp.
Do you know the reason why it is much more energy saving than traditional lighting? As a matter of fact, the reason is very simple, that is because of energy conservation law. The main function of lighting products is to convert electric energy into luminous energy. However, not everything could go as our expected, due to the reason of material feature of fixture and technical limitation, in a practical application, and it’s very pity that electric energy is very hard to completely convert into luminous energy because some of them are converted into heat energy.
The reason why LED light is energy saving is that the efficiency that electric energy is converted into luminous energy is much higher. Take incandescent, compact fluorescent lamp and LED High Bay for example, in general, the luminous efficiency of incandescent is about 10lm/w, and compact fluorescent lamp is about 30lm/w while LED High Bay is about 90lm/w and it is even able to reach 200lm/w in laboratory. Thus it can be seen, the luminous efficiency of LED light is much higher than traditional lighting.
Therefore, in order to reach the same lighting effect, if choose LED product, its power is much lower than traditional lighting, and so is the power consumption.
