Nowadays, LED Light has been recognized as the most efficient man-made lighting technology all over the world. The application of LED light dates back to 1960s. In the recent years, LED Lighting has been widely applied in various indicator light, LED Street Light , holiday light, note book, Television backlight, etc. Due to its high efficiency, it has been extensively thought of an environmental way to use LED light take the place of traditional fluorescent lamp.
However, a survey displays that the environmental effect of LED is likely to be offset by the toxic substance that LED contains. It is not an alarmist talk because researchers have seriously analyzed many kinds of LED holiday light, including both high luminance and low luminance LED.
Result shows that the LED Light contains antimony, arsenic, chromium, lead and many other metallic elements. Among of them, the content of some toxic elements has exceeded the standard, which is formulated by supervision department. For example, in low luminance red LED light, researchers found that the content of lead has exceeded 8 times of standard while nickel has exceeded 2.5 times.
In fact, the majority of LED light has been defined as toxic waste. If we use ordinary landfill method to deal these waste, it would pollute soil and underground water. If LED Light is broken, it would directly endanger our healthy. So far, most people have not been aware of the damage of LED light to environment and healthy.
To be perfectly frank, even though the efficiency of LED Light is very high, it is absolutely not completely environmental protection fixture. Therefore, it’s necessary to properly use and recycle LED products so that it won’t damage the environment and healthy too much.
