Actually, like LED High Bay Light, low bay light is also energy efficient and low maintenance for industrial and commercial lighting fixture. Both of them are perfect for low mount applications such as workshop, warehouses, gyms, road toll gates, petrol stations, airport passenger halls, etc.
Since that Low Bay Light and High Bay Light have different name, so what’s the distinction between them? In fact, a Low Bay Light is always used in area which is less than 20 feet above the floor. In order to spread the light evenly, the diameter of low bay fixture is about 22 – 28 feet. In addition, it also has optical refractors that cover the lamp and reduce glare. Their widespread distribution improves vertical illumination and permits spacing as much as two or more times their mounting height. In addition, they can be mounted up to 25' when high vertical illuminance is required. Fluorescent fixtures are also good for low bay lighting due to their excellent uniformity and relatively low lumen package compared to HID. In contrast, High bay lighting fixtures is typically used in areas where the bottom of the light fixture is more than 20 feet above the floor. Typical high bay fixture has an aluminum reflector which allows a beam of light to reflect downwards to the floor area.
